7-7-2024 Merienda Muna Tayo!
Magandang araw sa inyong lahat!
A great week this past week, huge blessings of the Lord in this area, as well as ways of growth as an individual. The Lord continues to, as he sees we are ready, not when we say we are ready, to push our limits. As a high pain tolerance, only gets higher, through more pain! Nevertheless, either way, good or bad, they were pricless opportunities of growth. In which as always! Ill share just one:)
This past week was a great week, building missionary and membership unity, allowing us to increase our KI'S, and in the Lords way he has set, push forward the work here in San Nicolas. We had 7 people were teaching attend church last Sunday, which was a huge blessing and answer to our fast. However the experience that I want to share happened this past week Thursday. On our way to our next appointment, sort of in a rush, as we were last minute invited to a dinner appointment (what a huge issue), we had 2 more appointments to teach, and travel to the dinner appointment in a hour, power walking down the street, of course with class, walked passed an inactive member who always calls out, "Elders! Merienda muna tayo" or ... kind of lets eat in English but not.. we like most times, politely declined, smiled and waved, and continued our path. Almost an immediate feeling of a slap in the face, did exactly that, as I stopped. I looked at Elder, and for about 10 seconds, we looked at each other with the most awkward and unsure face. We knew we had to rush to reach those we planned in our schedule, and we also had a dinner appointment set to eat soon, but we both felt the same feeling. Quickly discussing, we made the decision, to turn back and take the offer. Not sure at first, talking stories with nay, within 5 minutes she opened up to us about her situation, and asked about a priesthood blessing, in which we were able to give. We werent able to reach our last two appointments, but I know the Lord needed us to be there, at that time, to answer the prayer of his child. Failing to plan, is planning to fail and as missionaries are required to plan, but as we do so, the Lord does as well. Leading us to be wherever, whenever he needs us to be there. I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the Lords work, to simply answer peoples prayers.
I am grateful to the Lord, for his presence in his work, and for the love he continues to show to such an inadequate person as I.
2 Nephi 4 is one of my favorite chapters in the Book of Mormon,
20 My God hath been my support; he hath led me through mine afflictions in the wilderness; and he hath preserved me upon the waters of the great deep.
21 He hath filled me with his love, even unto the consuming of my flesh.
Of which blessings he continues to pour out to me, I am grateful. Love all you choken, JAHS TRAHS in da Lord! Keep reading da scriptchas so magmemerienda tayo sa langit!!
a hui hou kākou,
ELDER ISHIBASHI
